It is a Romanesque jewel declared a national monument in 1921. Traditionally it has been attributed to a Visigoth origin that some situate around the year 675, although recent studies move its origins to after the Arab invasion of 711. Externally it seems to have undergone numerous modifications which, however, have not altered the essence of its original internal structure. It is a small church of Greek cross plant with a series of horseshoe arches on the transept and fresco paintings in the apse.
