In this region of the Eume we may visit the Natural Park Fragas do Eume, one of the best examples of European Atlantic forest, and no far from there we can discover the great monastery of Monfero.
Highlands of Eume river (R-21)

The high course of the river Eume is in the environment of the Sierra do Xistral, a large mountainous massif that reaches an altitude of 1000 metres, traditionally scarcely populated lands, characterized by a humid and fresh climate, where peat bogs are the protagonists and glacier valleys remain as mute witnesses of past geological periods.
